Going into this movie, I thought, “This is gonna do for zombies what Twilight did for vampires.”
I was pretty much right.
Let me rephrase that.
This movie is Juno and Little Miss Sunshine meets 28 Days Later.
Sounds weird?
It’s true.
I found myself annoyed at the Michael Cera-esque, Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus) playing one of the few remaining people left on the planet.
Pitiful virgins, a list of rules (that are as overplayed as the 100 different zombie survival guides that have come out in the last year) and a man who is looking for a twinkee.
This movie tries to blend those modern awkward comedy moments (that Wes Andersen is best known for) with zombie survival.
The whole cast annoyed me at one time or another.
Abigail Breslin (Little Rock) and Emma Stone (Wichita) are characters that are as underdeveloped as the zombies themselves.
But of course we need a love interest in this wannabe zombie film.
Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee) and Bill Murray (Bill Murray) are the only reasons to watch this movie.
Remember in Juno when she [Juno] says that “Suspiria is the GORIEST movie of all time? “
Well…if you think Suspiria is the GORIEST movie of all time, you might think Zombieland is an awesome zombie movie.
